FRIDAY LOWDOWN: Looks Like Humboldt is Starting Halloween Early This Year
Hell, your Lost Coast Outpost noticed there’s already Christmas decorations for sale at Costco this week. Why not bump up Halloween too? Since you can’t get enough it seems, your Humboldt Friday is packed with spookiness well in advance of our upcoming sugar-drenched holiday. A list of things shocking:
- It’s opening weekend for NCRT’s historically very well done Haunted Mill Tour at Blue Ox Millworks. This year they are promising “an expanded tour” with “more special effects” to ensure you fully wet yourself. They recommend getting tickets in advance here.
- The Ferndale Repertory Theatre’s run of The Rocky Horror Show continues this weekend which means a new batch of guest narrators on the slab, namely Steve Carter (Friday), Michael Fields (Saturday), and Erin Dunn (Sunday).
- How could it be October if there were not horror movies? There’s a pair of ‘em to choose from Friday as the Arcata Theatre Lounge screens Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street while the Eureka Theater elects to go with Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd. Ahh! Double ahh!
Now, if you think partaking in Halloween-y activities this early in the month is sacrilegious then dare to scroll your Friday Lowdown listings below. —AG
