TONIGHT: Your Chance to Request Extra Sour Cream From Eureka’s Police Chief

“Stop posing and fetch my quesadilla!”

Which is more difficult?: Keeping Eureka’s mean streets safe against methed-out baddies who terrorize the law-abiding citizenry? Or juggling six plates of mole enchiladas destined for the impatient mouths at table four?

Find out Wednesday night when Eureka Police Department elite, as well as other city officials, refill your water glass at Rita’s Mexican Grill on Fifth Street during the EPD at Your Service fundraising dinner. Si! Your wait staff for the evening? Let’s hear it for EPD Chief Andy Mills, Captains Steve Watson and Brian Stephens, Mayor Frank Jager, Councilmember Melinda Ciarabellini and Humboldt County Supervisor Virginia Bass! Make sure to order many separate small plates!

Why do this? Well, 15% of proceeds will help fund the second annual Eureka Block Party which takes place Sept. 24 at Sequoia Park. That’s why! Additional details on this and other Wednesday night events in your Lowdown listings below.
