FRIDAY LOWDOWN: The Siren’s Song Tavern Needs a Stage For All Their ‘Bad Ass’ Rockin’

Your Humboldt Friday contains many guitars should you need those.

  • The Best of Humboldt Fair’s Friday night headliner is none other than blues riff-slinger Brad Wilson. Over the years the journeyman axe handler has shared stages with Chicago and Jeff Beck. Sample his pentatonic scale mastery in the clip above.
  • The Siren’s Song Tavern has a band hat trick scheduled featuring local loud from Harsh Shards, Dullahan and Don’t Panic. The show is a benefit of sorts with the goal of raising funds for a stage (bands are easier to see when they are rocking at you from an elevated position).

Scroll your Lowdown below for even more band-age, notably at Blondies, the Little Red Lion and ye olde Logger Bar

If you seek chuckles to end your week, we’ll also mention that standup Alfonso Ochoa is scheduled to be hilarious tonight at the Arcata Playhouse. Witness him shame some girl on Match.com below and/or find your perfect Friday in your Lowdown listing farther down. —AG
