Your Acoustic Humboldt Friday (VIDEO/AUDIO)

A quick scan of the robust Friday Lowdown listings below reveals a night rich with live music options. Two shows we’d like to highlight:

  • The Arcata Playhouse plays host to the Canadian Gypsy jazz guitar magician-led Mark Atkinson Trio. You may have been dazzled by Atkinson’s fingers back in September when he rolled through town with his main musical brethren The Bills. Sample a bit of his virtuosity in the clip above.
  • Up at the Logger Bar, local raw, outlaw folk voice Caitlin Jemma and her band the Long Gone Stringband celebrate the release of their new EP. Before heading out to Blue Lake’s de facto house of worship sample the track “On My Way” below.

-Andrew Goff
