Lowdown: ‘Prune Packers’ is a Funny Name For a Baseball Team
Oh crap! There’s only a few games left in the 2015 Humboldt Crabs season! Tonight at the Arcata Ball Park, your hometown crustaceans begin their annual series with their most hilariously named nemeses, the Healdsburg Prune Packers. Ha! What a horrible name for a baseball team! Check this out, if you can’t come up with some good heckles for tonight’s game, please move to Healdsburg. LoCO will also note that not-dead former DJ Mike Dronkers is throwing out the first pitch at tonight’s game. Uh, he deserves to be heckled as well.
Elsewhere this evening, the annual Fortuna Redwood AutoXpo kicks off in Fortuna with a cruise down Main Street and a Sock Hop at the River Lodge, there’s some fine Scottish music for your ears at The Sanctuary courtesy The Fire, and Club Triangle returns to Jambalaya — they have a tough act to follow after last month’s historic event.
More joy in your Lowdown listings below. —Andrew Goff
