You Used to Be More Fun

Before we plan our Wednesday, let’s talk about Saturday and how you — carefree, whimsical you — used to love to play in the sand.

Remember sand? You love it! It’s great. And you can immerse every part of your being in it this weekend if your inner child is courageous enough to sign up for Friends of the Dunes’ annual Sand Sculpture Festival occurring this weekend at the Manila Dunes Recreation Area. It’s ridiculously cheap to enter and proceeds help keep them dunes sparkly. More info here. Dig, you.

OK, about tonight. We don’t feel like we’d be risking too much by suggesting that more total musical notes will be played/sang/inferred within the confines of the Arcata Playhouse this evening than in any other building in Humboldt. (Maybe some Dead cover band in their garage, but they’ll be playing for 11 straight hours or more.)  Anyway, long story short, Italian folk/jazz sextet OU (pronounced “oo”) will dizzy your ears tonight if you so allow them. Get an aural glimpse of what they bring to the table in the clip below.
