UPDATE:
###
Fortuna resident Marci Kitchen, who stands accused of vehicular manslaughter in the death of her 14-year-old daughter and another girl, will plead guilty to all charges on Monday.
Kitchen could be sentenced to as many as 11 years in prison.
Outpost reporter Rhonda Parker was in the courtroom this afternoon as Kitchen’s legal team appeared before a judge. Her report on the afternoon’s proceedings will run later this afternoon. [UPDATE: Here.]
Kiya Kitchen and Faith Tsarnas were struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Eel River Drive in Fortuna in July 2016. Since that time, and after Kitchen evaded law enforcement attempts to question her in connection with the crime, the case has riveted and anguished much of Humboldt County, and many have been dismayed by the drawn-out criminal proceedings against the accused Kitchen.
More soon.
